Here is my second sashiko cleaning cloth. I think I have made progress since last time , some stitches are too fluffy though. Just what I need is to practice !

Here is a bag I made this week.

this retro style fabric is one of my favorites. The round form is made of 3 darts on the bottom.

I attached the genuine leather handle with hand stitch. A you see, it's not easy !

The fabric used inside is retro as well. I bought it at a flea market in Amsterdam last year.

So, what do you think of this retro bag ?

Sashiko

For the first time I tried to make "sashiko", kind of Japanese quilt / embroidery. As beginner, I used some sashiko kits.

I made a cleaning cloth for kitchen. This pattern is called "Asanoha" which means hemp leaf.

And two coasters.

Making sashiko is more difficult than I thought. My stitches are irregular and the lines are not straight enough...

Apart from the diffuclty I actually enjoyed to make sashiko. Completing a sashiko project after a long running stitch work satisfyed me and curiously I would like to start to make a new sashiko immediately.

I have one more kit to be finished. I will show the completed work here soon.

Already it has got chilly here in Belgium. I made warm accessories for my guys and me.

- blue and light green scarf for my hus.

- cap and scarf with the same yarns for my son.

- black flannel bed cover for our lovely dog Sai.

- 100% wool scarf for me

What I made this week ...

This looks like a simple tote bag but it isn't. This is a plastic shopping bag storage and dispenser.
You can put in the top plastic bags brought from shops and take out a bag from the bottom when you need for re-use.

I love the green color for my kitchen. It seems very "ecologic".

My small cosmetic pouch's zipper got broken so I decided to make one by myself. I am not good at sewing in a zipper and I kind of messed up lol But it's ok for me, it is usable and portable. It is principal.

I made some bibs for mu son's babysitter who will become mam in one month and for our friendly "grandma-to-be" cleaner.

Bibs are so easy to make and it's really fun to make :)

Rabbits bag

I made this tote bag last weekend. The fabric is sooooo cute. I love the rabbits.

Don't look over it carefully, please, because it was so hard to correct the unevenness of the fabric that I couldn't manage it !!! There is a slight gap on the front and back pieces of fabric !!! That's too bad.

I made a small inside pocket as well. Another rabbit is jumping !

I'm happy to make it up, it isn't perfect though.

Now there is a problem. The bag is too big for me!!! It measures around 40cm high and 38cm large. It is too much someone short like me, OH MY GOD !

I'm gonna think about what to do with it ...

Azuma bag is traditionall made of Furoshiki (japanese wrapping cloth). It is very useful as a shopping bag, lunch bag, lingerie bag etc as the bag can be folded easily. And it is sooo easy to make !

I can bring it everywhere in my bag as folded. When I need I just tie the strap parts. That's it !

This azuma bag is reversible.

I made a japanese traditional bag with french provencal fabric :)

My favorite one is used as my-working-yarn bag. Love it!

I try to make bigger ones and I will show them here soon !

Alice - crochet bag

Finally I finished up this bag.

The crochet part has been finished for a while. It just took time to find nice wooden buttons. I found them at la droguerie in Toulouse, France.

I am so happy the result I put it on sale at my etsy shop.

Ecolocco pouch - trial

My first felt pouch with Midori from Ecolocco.

This is just a trial. The pouch isn't even lined and has lots of things to be improved.

I enjoyed hand-sewing those tree appliques. Aren't they cute ?

Blue beach bag

I just made this bag last week. I don't have anymore plan to go to the beach for this summer though...

This bag can be used as shopping bag until next summer. As soon as I told so to my husband, his suspicious face appeared. "Does it sturdy enough to carry all our groceries ? "

Ok, we need to test it.

For a first try, we brought it to a local market and put inside mainly heavy-classed fruits and veg ( 1 melon, 4 grapefruits, 6 bananas and 1 big zucchini, a couple of onions ) . No problem !! Yeees!

And another best part is that this "shopping" bag coud be hooked over the hundles of ous son's stroller. I do even not have to carry it when I do some groceries with my son, which means every time I go to the market !

Now I don't know whether this "beach" bag will be used next summer for its original purposes ...

Internationale Poppen-en berenbeurs @ Bruges

Yesterday I visited the doll & bear fair in Bruges. I got lots of inspiration from the works exhibited there !

Most of bears are one-of-a-kind and fully handmade. It is amazing each of them has different expression.

I like walking around in Bruges. This is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe indeed. Even the rain can't stop me from admiring its splendid monuments, gorgeous squares and pretty canal...
